Favorite way to spend the weekend
If I’m not coaching my son’s baseball team, I’m either relaxing with my family, fishing, or hiking.
Favorite remodeling project(s)
I like the freedom of outdoor living spaces, which often have less restrictions and allow for creative ingenuity that gives clients exactly what they want. I also enjoy kitchen remodels since I love to cook.
Professional passions
My passion is helping clients figure out exactly what they want, and I really enjoy the collaborative part of a remodel. I especially enjoy presenting a design, getting feedback and questions from the client, and then coming back with a new design that makes the project perfect for them. A lot of times, our clients aren’t sure what they want, but they have an idea on how they want to use the space. I love helping them figure that out.
Education, years of experience, certifications, etc.
I first worked for the company when I was very young, and I think my dad went out of his way to make sure I didn’t like it. I had all the “small guy” jobs like climbing under the house and digging ditches. It worked because I had no interest in working for the company at the time.
It wasn’t until after I graduated from U.C. Santa Barbara in 2000 that I landed my first job in the technology industry working for a large, international tech company. I learned early on that it wasn’t right for me.
In 2003, I was asked to join the family business after learning about the growth and positive changes happening in, at then, Gayler Construction. I found immediate comfort in applying my contractor’s license, communications degree, and tech background to help the company continuously produce top quality, innovative projects. The rest is history.
Fun fact
This little gem was saved by my parents, Darlene and George Gayler—original artwork from me as a 5-year-old. The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
The Gaylers are also deeply rooted in the community. I belong to the San Ramon Rotary and have served on the board for several years. I am a graduate of the Invitation Only 2014 Leadership San Ramon program.
