Blackhawk Transitional Bathroom Remodel

This California couple living in Blackhawk kept telling themselves, “We’re only going to be here for two years so we can just live with some of the things we don’t like.” After twenty years, they realized it was time to update two areas of their home that troubled them the most—their kitchen and downstairs bathroom. After attending one of Gayler Design Build’s Kitchen and Bath remodeling seminars, they knew that Gayler was the remodeling firm that could help them accomplish their goals.

Challenge

Looking to keep the existing footprint of their downstairs bathroom and kitchen the same, our clients wanted to update and modernize both, while improving the functional use of the space and adding much-needed storage.

This downstairs bathroom was old, very busy and needed a complete overhaul.

Solution

The shower was redone in a gorgeous marble-inspired 24 x 24 Statuario Matte porcelain tile. Unique touches include a large built-in shelf, satin gold-colored fixtures by California Faucets, and a sleek linear drain. The same porcelain tile in the shower was also carried out on the bathroom floor, and the toilet was replaced with a new energy-saving Kohler.

The new custom vanity was finished in a lovely gray-green color and topped with Calcutta Laza marble-inspired Quartz. Sparkle and glam are achieved in the crystal hardware, gold-colored sconces, and a gold-colored framed mirror.

Result

Our clients were thrilled that their 20-year old bathroom was finally updated to reflect their current lifestyle and design sensibilities.
