Danville Front Exterior Renovation
This 1973 home’s exterior needed a facelift. The homeowners were looking for transformative changes that would improve the home’s curb appeal and dated appearance. The Gayler Design Build design team got to work and presented ideas that brought this couple’s vision to life.
We started by designing and building a new front porch and exterior entryway, adding much-needed interest and dimension to the plain facade. The large porch ceiling was designed with custom resawn timber and supported by two large craftsman-style posts wrapped in show-stopping Canyon Creek Glacier Mountain stone that was shipped in directly from Montana, specifically for the project.
This same “imported” stone was also used as wainscoting along the front of the home and around the three-car garage. A third craftsman-style post was added to the corner of the home to support the new extended porch and the re-designed roofline.
Gayler installed beautiful red cedar shingles in the gables above the main roofline and the front window near the new porch, creating texture and visual interest. We exchanged the old garage doors with beautiful craftsman wood doors and installed all-new exterior lighting, including a stunning chandelier for the front porch and sconces flanking the left and right side of the garage.
Our landscape team laid a new architectural concrete walkway with oversize step pads and decorative gravel joints to welcome people to the home. Native landscaping, accent lights, a sitting area, and a craftsman-style fence along one side of the property round out the front yard improvements.
A critical must-have for our client was to protect a beautiful Liquid Amber tree in their front yard. Our solution was to design and build a unique, smooth stucco mailbox and retaining wall to accent the tree, and protect it as well.
Other highlights of this exterior remodel include a brand new roof, paint, and all new siding.
