Challenge

These Danville homeowners wanted to remodel their kitchen to create an open, airy space that seamlessly connects to the family room. Their goal was to brighten the area and make it feel lighter, while fostering a more inclusive environment where everyone could engage and feel connected, whether in the kitchen or family room.

Solution

To create the open, inviting space the client envisioned, we had to tackle a significant barrier—a large brick fireplace that divided the kitchen and family room. By removing the outdated fireplace from the center and replacing it with a sleek, modern version on an exterior wall, we transformed the entire layout. Now, the family room and kitchen seamlessly flow together, creating a warm and welcoming space as soon as you enter the home. As an added bonus, the new design showcases a large patio slider, perfectly framing beautiful views of the backyard.

Result

The remodel transformed the kitchen and family room into an open, airy space that flows seamlessly together. With a sleek new fireplace, bright two-tone cabinetry, light quartz countertops, and wide-plank oak floors, the home feels lighter and more inviting. The centerpiece, a large island, creates the perfect gathering spot, ensuring everyone—especially the cook—stays connected in the beautifully redesigned space.
