Custom Kitchen Remodel and Addition in Orinda, CA

Client Need

The homeowners of this lovely Orinda home aimed to enhance their living space with a rustic Tahoe/woodsy atmosphere, expanding its footprint and fostering a more spacious, interconnected environment. This involved a 1,328 SF addition to the back of the home, remodeling the kitchen, dining room, and family room, adding a new deck, and creating a new office/guest room with an ensuite bathroom on the main level. Downstairs, two new bedrooms, a bathroom, a laundry room, and bonus room were included in the project.

Solution

The kitchen was crafted with a stunning tray ceiling adorned with elegant wood paneling above an expansive island. Our innovative design features new frameless Swiss Coffee upper and lower cabinets, harmonized with Pewter Green island cabinets. Enhancing the aesthetic are striking black, honed Zimbabwe countertops, complemented by a gorgeous desert green leathered slab for the island’s raised bar area. For appliances, our clients opted for a state-of-the-art SubZero refrigerator and freezer and wine refrigerator, paired with a Thermador cooktop and matching hood, as well as a Bosch microwave drawer and dishwasher.

In the adjoining family room, we incorporated a fully customized wet bar, featuring the same Pewter Green cabinets found on the island.

Result

The remodeling project skillfully fulfills the homeowners’ penchant for entertaining, crafting an open concept ideal for vibrant family gatherings and tranquil fireplace moments. Moreover, their daughters enjoy a dedicated downstairs area for socializing with friends.
